Gabby Logan supports Trees for Cities 20th Birthday, why not join her?
"What’s great about Trees for Cities is that their work is as much about people as it is about trees. Their vision 20 years ago of working with communities to transform the urban environment still underpins everything that they do. It’s inspiring and emotional and it’s why I’ve signed up to help." Gabby Logan
It's our 20th Birthday this year, and we are celebrating by planting 70,000 new trees - more trees than ever before. We want to do what we do best and work with more of the communities who need the calming, positive affect of green, urban canopies.
We launched our 20th Birthday activities by planting 20,000 trees, including 15,000 trees in our 20th Birthday Woodland in Ray Park, London Borough of Redbridge throughout January 2013. With the help of volunteers and Mayor Boris Johnson’s Team London Ambassadors we planted all 15,000 trees in a record-breaking 10 days.
There are more celebrations planned for the summer, including the City of London Festival, when Trees for Cities will be getting involved with the outdoor programme, which will involve a Tree Trail and a Mobile Orchard. Watch this space for more details.
We are asking all our supporters to join Gabby Logan, and sign our 20th Birthday 'Tree'ty', by helping us in one ore more of the following ways:
1. Donate £20 to Trees for Cities to plant more trees and transform the local environment
2. Volunteer and help us plant more trees
3. Fundraise by taking up a Trees for Cities fundraising challenge
Please join Trees for Cities and help us to transform the local environment in 2013.
