There are many other ways to donate to Trees for Cities including easyfundraising whilst you shop online, recycling your old car to help us plant trees or leaving a gift in your will.
Whenever you buy anything online, from your weekly shop to your annual holiday, you could be raising a free donation for Trees for Cities.
There are nearly 3,000 retailers including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury’s, who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to Trees for Cities to say thank you for shopping with them.
Here’s how it works
1. Start at easyfundraising.org.uk
Let’s say you want to buy a pair of shoes from John Lewis. Instead of going to johnlewis.com, you go to easyfundraising.org.uk first – or you can use the easyfundraising toolbar.
2. Make a purchase
You click from the easyfundraising website through to John Lewis to make your purchase. The price of the shoes is exactly the same as if you’d visited John Lewis directly.
3. Get a donation
After you have bought your shoes, John Lewis will make a donation to our cause as a thank you for shopping with them. easyfundraising collect these donations for us, and it costs nothing!
Payroll Giving is a simple and effective way to make regular donations to Trees for Cities, straight from your salary or pension. The scheme is flexible, and easy to opt in and out of, giving you full control over your donating.
Because your donation is given before Income Tax is deducted, it’s worth even more to us than the amount you actually pay. For example, a donation of £5 per month costs the basic rate taxpayer £4. The tax people pay the rest!
Payroll donations are a great way to donate to our work, providing us with a regular, reliable income stream that enables us to plan and budget for the future. And if your employer provides match funding, your gift can be enhanced at no extra cost.

Do you have an old car sitting in your drive? Recycle your car for free and in doing so help us to increase the amount of green spaces in UK cities. Trees for Cities has teamed up with the social enterprise Give a Car, by planting trees with the funds raised from the scrap metal or auction value of your vehicle. We are delighted to be one of Giveacar’s featured charities.
Giveacar is a not-for-profit social enterprise that can turn your old car into cash for any UK charity. They arrange free collection, then either sell your car at auction or scrap it with the proceeds raised going to your charity.
The UK’s first car donation scheme, Giveacar has won several awards and has now supported over 1,000 charities with the money raised from old cars. If you need to get rid of an old car and would like to do some good at the same time, give them a call and choose Trees for Cities.
Trees for Cities has partnered with Don’t Send me a Card, so that you can send e-cards for special occasions, and donate the cost equivalent of sending printed greeting cards to Trees for Cities. Your donation then goes towards the worthy cause of planting trees in urban areas!
