Love Trees campaign

Will you help Trees for Cities to plant 20,000 new trees in 2012?

Trees for Cities invited facebook fans to enter a competition helping our campaign to plant 20,000 trees. We invited people to upload images of discarded Christmas trees to raise awareness of the 120,000 tons of extra waste that real Christmas trees create post-Christmas and to encourage people to support Trees for Cities' 'Love Trees' campaign.

The competition is now closed and we have a lucky winner, have a look at some highlights on our facebook account.

Love Trees

As part of our Love Trees campaign, we would like you to donate to Trees for Cities to enable us to plant over 20,000 trees in cities in the UK and worldwide. Broadcaster Jon Snow, a long-term supporter of Trees for Cities is supporting our campaign and has seen the benefits of Trees for Cities’ planting at first hand:

‘Trees for Cities has worked hard over the past 18 years of its existence to improve the urban environment. It’s not just about the number of trees planted – Trees for Cities puts the local people and communities at the heart of every project that they do. I have seen the positive impact of their work in making our cities better places to live.

It is all too easy to take trees for granted in our urban environment but they are the lungs of cities and perform a role in mitigating climate change, reducing crime, increasing health and well being.’

What you can do

By donating anything from as little as £5 a month, you will be helping to plant trees in areas of cities that need it most.

I genuinely believe that this is a chance to make a difference and help our future well-being and survival.’ Jon Snow, Channel 4 News

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
