Directions:

Battersea Park BR: The Tree-Athlon village in Battersea Park is approximately 15 minutes walk from Battersea Park Train Station. The Park is clearly signposted. Turn right out of Battersea Park Train Station, cross the main road and you will see the park entrance (Rosery Gate) in front of you. Regular trains run from Victoria to Battersea Park Train Station.

Queenstown Road BR: The Tree-Athlon village is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from Queenstown Road Station. Turn left out of the train station and walk up Queenstown Road until you see the entrance to the park (Rosery Gate) at the roundabout on your left. Regular trains run from Vauxhall and Waterloo to Queenstown Road and follow the signs to Battersea Park.

Sloane Square Tube (Circle and District line), then by bus 319 to Battersea Bridge Road for Albert Gate or Sun Gate.

The following buses serve Battersea Bridge Road (for Sun Gate or Albert Gate entrances to Battersea Park – please ask driver) 19, 49, 319 and 345

09:45 Welcome from Sharon Johnson, CEO of Trees for Cities, followed by speech by Kulveer Ranger
09:50 Race warm-up with Pure Gym
10:00 Participants make their way to the start of the race
10:15 Race starts
           End of race - pick up water and sapling   
11:15 Registration for the 100m barefoot World Record attempt
11:15 Chris Collins Q&A begins
11:30 100m barefoot World Record attempt begins
12:00 Prize giving
12:15 – 15.00 Live Music and performance from:


  • 6 Day Riot - Edinburgh and London based alt. folk act 6 Day Riot have taken inspiration from the roots of British music and added sparkle and energy
  • Kevin Pearce - part of the wave of singer song writer talent currently bubbling out of Suffolk
  • Fred's House - a Cambridge-based folk outfit who’ve been attracting attention from BBC R6
  • Dec Shoes and The People Pile - Dec Shoes are a vinyl and vocal group who have paired up with contemporary dance troupe The People Pile
  • Tiny Dragons - a new Brighton-based four piece who in have been attracting a storm of attention
  • Dpplgngrs DJs - Neo electro outfit Dpplgnrs release their single Femme Fatale this week and today will be playing a special disco set.
  •   

    Other activities through the day include bird box making, a street art project, nature arts and crafts, face painting, hula hooping, reclaimed timber workshops, games for kids, tree trails, stilt walkers and more.

    The event is taking place in Battersea Park, London SW11 4NJ.

    Entry to the event can be made via any gate; Albert Gate is closest to the Tree-Athlon village.
