Orchard Cafe

Our very first overseas project was based in Addis, transforming disused wasteland in the Bambis area of the city.  With support from the British Embassy, we established a partnership with Gashe Abera Molla (founded by prominent Ethiopian artist Sileshi Demissie) to create an orchard of 100 banana, lemon and avocado trees. The orchard is now helping to support the running of a cafe, which was established on the site following the completion of the planting project.

Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver projects like the Orchard Cafe Project. Please consider supporting our project work by making a donation.

You can also support our work in Addis by buying a community gift. Or if you’d like to know more about the projects, please contact Millie Brown at millie@treesforcities.org or call 020 7820 4427.

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
