Wetherby

Trees for Cities helped to create a new public woodland for Wetherby, near to the well-used Wetherby leisure centre. While Wetherby is surrounded by green space, much of the land in and around the town is farmland or amenity grassland, and lacks the vast diversity of plants, birds, mammals, fungi, creepy crawlies and, of course, trees that thrive in native woodland.

Now as the woodland grows and matures this will hopefully change and Wetherby will see a much more diverse range of wildlife. The woodland will also act as an excellent resource for local school groups, families out for a picnic, and anyone who wants to go for a walk among the trees.

Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver projects like the Wetherby Project. Please consider supporting our project work by making a donation or buying a community gift.

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
