Roding Valley Woodland

Running North to South in the West of the Borough, the beautiful Roding Valley Park extends from Redbridge Roundabout in the South to the Borough Boundary in the North. Owned and managed by the London Borough of Redbridge the site was identified as one suitable for new woodland creation.

Trees for Cities have developed a partnership project with the London Borough of Redbridge, the Greater London Authority and News International and is aiming to plant an impressive 10,000 new native trees and a variety of woodland bulbs.  This should have a significant impact on local wildlife as the range of micro habitats for biodiversity will increase through the creation of new woodland margins.  With 10,000 trees to plant in January there will be plenty of opportunities for local schools, residents, businesses and community groups to get actively involved in improving their local environment.

This project is supported by the London Borough of Redbridge, the Greater London Authority, News International, the London Tree and Woodland Grant Scheme (Forestry Commission), vinspired and the Tree Council.

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
