Manchester

Manchester's famous Poplar trees are sadly being lost to Poplar scab - meaning a new generation of tree planting is urgently needed to maintain and increase the city's tree cover. Since March 2006 Trees for Cities has been working with Red Rose Forest - Greater Manchester's community forestry organisation - to plant new woodland plots, large specimen trees, hedgerow and community orchards across the city. We have planted over 10,000 trees to date, with many more planned for the coming planting season. If you would like further information about Trees for Cities' work in Greater Manchester, please contact Millie Brown at millie@treesforcities.org or call 020 7820 4427.

Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver our Manchester projects. Please consider supporting our project work by making a donation or buying a community gift.

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
