Sunnybrow Park
Sunnybrow Park is a wonderful community space in the heart of Gorton, surrounding a section of the Gore Brook that gives this area of Manchester its name. Throughout February 2010 Trees for Cities and Red Rose Forest will be linking up with local people to plant 3,000 native hedgerow trees around the park - creating a beautiful, living park boundary of beech, holly, hawthorn and hornbeam, rich in wildlife and seasonal colour.
We're particularly grateful to TD Waterhouse who have provided both funding and person-power for this project, and to all those who took part in our Tree and Single speed dating event at the park!
In future we hope to add a new community orchard in the park. If you'd like to know more about this or help raise funds for orchard trees in Gorton, please contact Millie on 020 7820 4427 or email millie@treesforcities.org.
Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver projects like the Sunnybrow Park Project. Please consider supporting our project work by making a donation or buying a community gift.
