Peterborough

Trees for Cities is helping to launch the new Forest of Peterborough initiative, planting new native woodland of over 3,000 trees within walking distance of the city centre.

The grassland of Thorpe Meadows currently offers very limited habitat or biodiversity potential. We will transform the site into a new public woodland. As the trees mature the rich and varied woodland will benefit local people for many generations. It will also form a habitat for a range of animals, plants and fungi.

This project is being delivered in partnership with News International and Peterborough Environment City Trust.

Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver our Peterborough projects. Please consider supporting our project work by making a donation or buying a community gift.

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
