Prospect Park

In January 2010 Trees for Cities linked up with volunteers from local company Westcoast to plant 1,000 hedgerow trees at Reading's best-used public park.

The trees will grow to screen artificial fencing and barbed wire on the park's edges, and will provide a wonderful, rich native mixture of hawthorn, hornbeam, field maple and guelder rose for all kinds of birds, insects and small mammals to live, nest and feed.

Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver our Reading projects. Please consider supporting our project work by making a donation or buying a community gift.

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
