Woolley Woods Special School

Children from Woolley Wood Special School had a very special day out to the woods that give the school its name. The children broke free of the confines of the classroom to take part in fun, educational, confidence-building games.

Multi-sensory experiences are important for all children, but particularly for those with multiple and profound physical and learning difficulties. The day was also a great experience for teachers and assistants, who say they will definitely be returning to the woods.

One of the main activities of the day was to gather acorns that the children will grow into little oak trees; these trees will then go with the school and the children when they move on to their new school building which is under construction.

Trees for Cities relies on donations from individuals in order to deliver our Sheffield projects. Please consider supporting our project work by making a donation or buying a community gift.

“Trees are a luxury for all of us and we need this luxury for our health, mind and soul. Places become sad when there is no green, no life present. Trees balance our lives. I am happy to support Trees for Cities with all my heart.”
