Tree-Athlon
The Tree-Athlon events take place in Battersea Park, London and Heaton Park, Manchester so don't be a sap register now!
This unique three-part event includes a 5km run, an opportunity to share your wish for the future of trees and even the chance to plant a sapling! The Tree-Athlon 2010 family day out promises to be the biggest and best yet! Depending on which city you take part in there are new aspects to our unique 5Km. Barefoot running, buggy sprinting and walking with your family are in addition to us making it all accessible to wheelchairs so now there’s no excuse not to sign up!
Each event has bundles of entertainment and stands, such as willow weaving, bird box making plus face painters, so take part and give something back to the environment this autumn while improving your health and making new friends.
Sharon Johnson, chief executive of Trees for Cities, will be appearing at the screening of the documentary No Impact Man at the Ritzy Picture House on the 7 September. It follows well-known American environmentalist and blogger Colin Beavan and his family as they embark on a year living with absolutely no impact in Manhattan. This means no cars, no fridges, no TV and no Starbucks.
