Part Time (15 hours per week. Hours to be spread over at least 3 days a week)

Salary: £40,000 FTE (pro rata for 15 hours per week)

Location: London, SE11 with hybrid working arrangements available

The Finance Manager is a new role that has been created due to the recent growth of Trees for Cities. They will assist the Finance & IT director to deliver internal and external reporting for Trees for Cities. They will also be responsible for managing various aspects of the P&L and balance sheet and will engage with staff members from all parts of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll – responsible for posting payroll and preparing the payroll reconciliation monthly, the quarterly salary forecasts and annually calculating staff day rates.

VAT – responsible for performing the partial exemption calculation, posting adjustments relating to partial exemption and preparing VAT returns.

Grant management – assisting the development team in preparing bids and reporting to funders, preparing schedules and analysis as needed, as well as ensuring grants are recorded appropriately in the accounting system.

Management accounts – run and update financial reports for a number of teams and meet with them to review actuals and forecasts on a quarterly basis. Update the actuals for the whole organisation management accounts and assist in preparing financial board papers.

Balance sheet closes – prepare the extended trial balance, prepare/collate associated schedules/reconciliations and post journals as necessary. Liaise and provide information to auditors as necessary.

Year end – prepare draft accounts, extended trial balance and associate schedules. Liaise and provide information to auditors as necessary.
