ABOUT TREES FOR STREETS
Trees for Streets is the new National Street Tree Sponsorship Scheme launched in May 2021. It’s a charitable tech-for-good ‘enterprise’, providing local councils with an innovative way to help fund street tree planting through resident and business sponsorship via an online funding platform. The scheme is going into its third year, and we’re working with a growing number of local authorities (including almost a 1/3 of London boroughs, and a number of major UK cities).
The scheme is a collaboration between the progressive charity, Trees for Cities, and the local innovator, Start with Local. It is supported by the Mayor of London, People’s Postcode Lottery, City Bridge Trust and DEFRA’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund.
PURPOSE OF JOB
We’re looking to hire an enthusiastic and experienced head to lead the marketing operation on our successful Trees for Streets programme.
Your role will be to promote the scheme to councils, funders, sponsors, residents, community groups, local businesses and within our space (street trees, greener streets, greener cities, urban environment, community engagement/empowerment). The outcome of your work will be the successful delivery of street tree sponsorship programmes in the localities we are working, the growth of the scheme into new localities, and a more favourable environment for the project to operate in.
This is your opportunity to really make your mark. In effect, you’ll be running a marketing agency for street trees!
