The new trees will increase canopy cover in the area, provide a natural barrier against pollution, increase natural habitats for wildlife and reduce high temperatures to combat the Urban Heat Island effect.

As part of this project, Trees for Cities is hosting a free community tree planting event at Weavers Fields on Saturday 11th March.

• The day is completely free to join and open to all ages and abilities.

• Trees for Cities will provide all the tools and equipment you need as well as expert guidance on tree planting from our urban forest team.

• There will be a free hot lunch provided.

The sign up form for this event is now closed. However, you can still join us tomorrow to plant. Head to the green gazebos in the North-East area of the park at 10am to sign up. Click the button below for an Information Pack with more event details.

Bethnal Green Gardens Planting Day - Saturday 4th March

Thank you to everyone who planted with us in Bethnal Green Gardens last Saturday 4th March!

Together we dug deep and planted over 12 trees in the park. This will help to combat pollution from surrounding roads, create new habitat for wildlife and increase the canopy cover in the Borough to reduce the Urban Heat Island effect. We couldn't have done it without you, thank you!
